President/Presiding Clerk Message 2010 Kenya Triennial Registration Yearly Meetings USFW Newsletters
|
Welcome to the United Society of Friends Women International web site. USFWI is a Christian international organization of Friends (Quaker) women which reflects twenty-six yearly Meetings located in Africa, Cuba, Jamaica and the United States. Beginnings: Formed in 1881 by Eliza Armstrong Cox and others responding to a concern among Friends Women for missionary work.
Purpose:
We meet in our local churches where we share lessons from the Blueprints, our program study book. We support Friends mission programs in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Palestine, Belize, Jamaica, Cuba and American Indians. Local groups will respond to local needs as well. We work cooperatively within our yearly meetings.
Through our publication,
The Advocate,
members are kept informed of our activities.
We meet globally every three years in Triennial sessions. (The next Triennial sessions will be held in Kenya at the Sun 'n Sand Hotel north of Mombasa, July 1-5 2010. Registrations are currently requested.)
