2010-2013 Officers were installed at the 2010 Triennials in Mombasa, Kenya.

President/Presiding Clerk

          Patricia Shrock

When an organization established nearly 130 years ago chooses the theme, “See, I am doing a new thing”, it gives one pause. What new thing can they be doing now? While we DID have our recent Triennial conference outside the U.S. –a first or new thing—that is not the reason for this theme.

As we look again at the passage in Isaiah 43:19, we see this verse is near the beginning of the long prophecy Isaiah imparted to King Hezekiah. He begins with “Comfort, comfort my people”. A part of that comfort comes then in Is. 43:18, 19. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing.”

Although the United Society of Friends Women International has a long history of unity, dedicated work in supporting missions and projects, developing devotional programs and communicating, we must also “not dwell on the past”. We cannot become satisfied with what we have done or our methods but must look forward to what new things we might be able to do.

Our purpose remains the same—to unite all Friends women in fellowship and service. Join us in prayer and in service as we seek new things, new methods, new means to share the mission of the church and to continue to stimulate spiritual growth.

We love to hear updates from you about what new thing you are doing. We welcome input from at large members, local societies and Yearly Meeting USFW groups.  It takes all of us to make up our international organization.

May God bless the work of your hands,

                                                                                                             Pat Shrock
